William was tried at Maidstone in Kent on the 18th of March 1785, for assault with intent to rob.
William was sentenced to transportation for 7 years. He left England with the first fleet on board the Alexander.
His occupation was not recorded.
His death in 1793 was attributed 'by taking intemperately of the American rum'.
