THE LAW BECOMES IRRELEVANT
In 1851, by law, all minerals and treasure-trove found in Australia, whether on private property or on public property, belonged to the crown. MORE
BENDIGO MINING EXCHANGE
In 1864, the mining exchange opened up where the current Beehive building stands today. The original building was much bigger but unfortunately burnt down in 1871. MORE
