Skipping Girl Appeal, Is this the end for Audrey?
Even us Bendigonians know the Skipping Girl! The first 'Skipping Girl' was erected in 1936. Affectionately called Audrey, she was a shining example of Australia's early animated neon. Audrey has been one of Melbourne's favourite landmarks for many years as everyone knew 'The Skipping Girl'.Sadly Audrey has not been lit up since 2001 and she has falllen into disrepair. Help Audrey to skip again! The National Trust Victoria is looking to raise $60,000 so Audrey can visit the light doctor for an overhaul.
