| History Visit the site of Victoria's deepest gold mine! During its 97 years of operation it was the deepest goldmine in the world, reaching the enormous depth of 4,613 feet. Although some estimates are much higher than that actually recorded, those operational years of 1857 - 1954 yielded over 22 million ounces of gold and would be valued on today’s market at over $7,920,000,000
